The Sunny Boy 3.0, 3.6, 4.0, and 5.0 inverters have three indicator lights: green, blue, and red.
Green Light – Power Generation
The green LED indicates whether or not the inverter is generating power.
- A steady or pulsing green light means that energy is being produced.
- If the green LED is off, no energy is being generated—this is normal when there is no sun, for instance at night. However, if the sun is shining on the panels and the green LED is still off, there may be a malfunction. Please contact us.
- After resetting the inverter, the green LED will blink for a few minutes (2 sec on, 2 sec off) during the startup phase.
Blue Light – Internet Connection
The blue LED indicates the status of the internet connection.
- A steady blue light means the inverter is connected to another device, usually your internet router.
- If the blue LED is steady but the internet connection is not working, the issue is likely due to your router settings or an outage from your Internet Service Provider.
- A blinking blue LED means the inverter is trying to establish a connection, typically via WiFi. Once the connection is successful, the blue LED will turn steady.
Red Light – Error Indicator
The red LED signals a system error.
- If the red LED remains on, a fault has occurred. Please contact our service department for assistance.
