The SolarEdge inverter can be connected to the router either via a network cable or via a Wi-Fi connection. If no data comes through, it can help to 'reset' the inverter. This means that the voltage on both sides (both from the grid and from the panels) is disconnected and reconnected. The reset is done as follows:
-
Step 1
Go to the inverter. On the device, at the bottom, there is a switch (a pin) that points to 1 (the red circled part in the photo). Set this to 0 to switch off the inverter.

-
Step 2
Switch off the AC (alternating current) side. If there is an AC switch mounted near the device as in the first picture (red arrow), you can switch that off. If there is no AC switch near the device, you can switch down the solar power circuit breaker in the dictribution board (recognizable by the Zonnefabriek sticker)

-
Step 6
If these actions have been succesful, communication to the Solar Edge portal will return after about 15 minutes. If this is not the case, the router can also be reset. This can be done by unplugging the router from the power outlet and plugging it back in after half a minute.

If the connection is successfully restored, the following will be visible on the screen (if the inverter has a screen): <S_OK> , which means that there is a good connection. On the SolarEdge monitoring portal and in the app, the data will gradually start coming in again
-
Step 7
If the connection has not been successfully re-established, for inverters with a display you can press the green button below the display until you reach the following screen:

The xxxxxxxx are 0’s and 1’s that together form a communication bit. The 1’s mean status OK. If there is a 0 then that means an error. In the following table you can read how each 0 can be solved. For example: if the first digit of the series is already a 0, then there is a problem with the data cable: check that the cable is properly connected.
