Our Approach

Below, you'll find an overview of our process. The duration varies depending on the project and client, but this illustrates what the ideal process looks like. We aim to complete your installation within three months.

Subsidies

There are several subsidy options available for cooperatives. The most common ones are the Postcoderoos Scheme and the SDE++ subsidy. Below, we explain what these schemes entail and what they can mean for you.

This subsidy provides a tax benefit on energy bills for individuals or businesses who invest in the generation of renewable energy together with others in their local area. Participants must live within the designated geographical area around the solar installation site.

The reduction applies to the first tier of the energy tax and can bring it down to zero, up to the member’s own annual consumption and a maximum of 10,000 kWh per year. Members of energy cooperatives and homeowners’ associations are eligible for this tax benefit. With this arrangement, members enjoy lower energy costs, while the cooperative earns income from the electricity sold to the grid.

As of 2021, this tax-based incentive has been replaced by a new subsidy scheme. The key change is that cooperatives now receive a fixed subsidy from the government on top of their electricity revenue, instead of a tax discount for their members. You can find more information about this new scheme here.

The SDE++ (Stimulation of Sustainable Energy Transition) subsidy is part of the Dutch climate agreement to reduce CO2 emissions by 49% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. This subsidy supports the production of renewable energy or CO2-reducing technologies in a cost-effective way. Its goal is to close the price gap between renewable energy and fossil fuels.

Industries such as manufacturing, mobility, electricity, agriculture, and construction are eligible for this subsidy. It is granted for a period of 12 to 15 years.
